The Arts

All pupils are encouraged to enjoy the Arts. The annual house music competition ensures that every pupil in the school is involved and preparing for a performance. Every term there is at least one concert for pupils to demonstrate the progress they have made. GCSE, AS and A2 Music are available for serious musicians.

Since the introduction of Theatre Studies as an academic subject, there has been an opportunity for pupils to perform at a very high level. Yet there are a number of annual productions for those who see drama as fun and recreation rather than a career path.

The listed 19th century Water Tower has been converted into a recording studio. There is always a small group of pupils who spend their hours rehearsing on drums, guitars and keyboards, dreaming of their big break in the music industry.

The annual Arts Day is a great opportunity  to discover a new talent with workshops for dance, drama and music. Other pupils record the events on film, write reviews and create an event website.
