Burr, Everett,
Skipwith and Welsh are the four boarding houses. They are
relatively small with around 50 boys in each house. All boys spend
the first and last weekend of each term at school. For the
remainder of the term there is a great deal of flexibility; boys
and parents may arrange leave weekends with the Housemaster's
permission.
Burr caters for
a boarder who rarely takes a leave weekend during the term. It is
the ideal house for distant boarders whether they originate
from Dubai or Durham, Hong Kong or Hull.
Orchard is the
day house for boys and sixth form girls. Every pupil has a working
area allowing them to study during the day and early
evening. The day pupils benefit form all the advantages of
boarding.
All Year 13
pupils progress to the University style accommodation provided by
College House. Every house has its own rooms, bathroom and kitchen
facilities. Pupils retain strong links with their parent houses
and take a major role in the smooth running of Burr, Everett,
Orchard, Skipwith and Welsh.
